Scottish Independence Podcast 163 – They Don’t Make It Difficult, Do They?

Bj9r_nPIYAAUZrd

The 163rd episode of The Scottish Independence Podcast is a thank you for some of the great moments that Scottish Labour leaders have given us in recent years.

Today the new empty suit put himself right in the mix with the previous empty suits and dresses, and he is hardly in the job.

Hope you enjoy.

Scottish Independence Podcast 162 – Trump and Tories

Davidson2 The 162nd episode of The Scottish Independence Podcast is a quick run through of some of the things that Trump and the Tories have been up to.

Some listeners may find the amount of Ruth Davidson in it upsetting, however, when she is in it, she is constistently making an arse of herself. She also says some terminological inexactitudes, seems to forget that welfare isn’t a devolved matter and more.

There is also someone making fun of Trump, but the problem with that is that whatever you say about him, he is easily able to outdo it with what he says himself.

Scottish Independence Podcast 161 – Christians For Indy

About a month ago I found the image below.

DKtiNkoXUAA1eed

I noticed that the only people I hadn’t had on the show among the conveners and voting organisations were Elaine C. Smith (I’ve tried – can’t seem to get in touch with her), AyeScotland, Christians For Independence and Pensioners for Independence.

I then immediately tweeted out asking if any of those organisations would like to come on the show for a talk about independence. The first I managed to organise something with (and I’ll be working on the others shortly) were Christians for Independence.

1393438629I’m not a religious man myself so I thought it would be interesting to hear their perspective and, as the guest, Dave Thompson – former SNP MSP and convener of the group, pointed out in the show, over 400,000 people regularly  attend churches in Scotland every week so is this a demographic the indy movement can afford to ignore?

So here is the 161st episode of The Scottish Independence Podcast with Dave Thompson of Christians for independence

Hope you enjoy.

Scottish Independence Podcast 160 – Ian Hamilton QC

Ian Hamilton QuoteThe 160th episode of The Scottish Independence Podcast is an interview with Ian Hamilton QC, probably most known for going down to London with some friends and /taking back/stealing/repatriating/borrowing (delete as you wish) The Stone of Destiny/Scone. I have always wanted to have him on the show but unfortunately it wasn’t me that got to interview him, it was instead Mike Small of Bella Caledonia (Bella also has a fundraiser), who has allowed me to make it up into an episode here.

We get some great details on the story of the taking of stone and about the independence movement and its history.

Hope you enjoy.

Scottish Independence Podcast 159 – Colin Fox at the Edinburgh SNP Club

colin-fox.jpgThe 159th episode of The Scottish Independence Podcast features a talk given at the Edinburgh SNP Club last night by Colin Fox of the SSP.

Colin always speaks well and this time was no different. As well as being his usual genial self however, he also spoke about some of the difficulties the independence movement is in and how we can get out of them.

Hope you enjoy.

Scottish Independence Podcast 158 – How Bad & Incompetent The UK Government Is

In the case of Brexit, I heard assurances throughout the course of the mission and yesterday at the human rights council from the government that Brexit would not lower protection from environmental threats. However, I also heard, or actually did not hear any clear assurances of how that would be the case. There have been statements from metoxic-waste-5mbers of government saying that existing laws will be maintained wherever practical and desirable, which I find very worrying.
– Baskut Tuncak, UN Rapporteur

The 158th episode of The Scottish Independence Podcast features a talk given at the UN by Baskut Tuncak. The report was about the UK and the quote I put above is possible the least damning thing he said, not the most.

Human rights abuses, toxic waste, pollution, brexit, poisoning of children in the UK and abroad, agreements with dodgy overseas partners and more, this is a strong indicator of just how dysfunctional, intransigent and even nasty the British state can be.

Hope you enjoy.
