Scottish Independence Podcast 146 – Murray, Orr & Harvie

First of all, a huge thank you to all of you who donated in our little fundraiser. You’ve secured the podcast for another year and we’re very grateful.thank-you-post-it_xoombi

Episode 146 of the Scottish Independence Podcast continues the series of talks given at the recent Scottish Independence Convention and has a couple of little bonuses thrown in too.

There are another two talks featured. The first was given by Lesley Orr of Women For Indy, and the second by Patrick Harvie, and this was his speech to round off the conference.

Before we get to those however, there is a little excerpt of a talk given by Craig Murray, in which he explains we he thinks for Indyref 2 we need to get international observers.

Hope you enjoy.

The Scottish Independence Podcast 85 – Out & About 3

BtnO8S0CcAAj2DyThere are so many Independence and Yes events going on around the country now that it is very hard to keep track of them. MP3s and youtube videos are going up all the time.

The 85th episode of the Scottish Independence Podcast is the third in a series of podcasts under the title Out & About featuring some of the best ones to give you the chance to hear them without searching too far.

Each one will have different speakers, from independent independents, people in the different parties, people in the groups you find at these events and, well, people who’ve had something excellent to say on the matter.

In this third episode the contributions again come from a wide variety of sources.

The first is writer and actor Julia Taudevin and is something a bit different from the majority of indyref material you’re likely to listen to.

The second is Tommy Sheppard, who isn’t just a labour supporter who is now supporting a Yes vote, he is someone who was very high up in the party.

The third is Patrick Harvie, leader of the Scottish Greens, who has been consistently great all the way through the debate.

Last up is Carolyn Leckie explaining the importance of getting a Yes vote by women in Scotland, and the importance of a Yes vote for women

Hope You Enjoy, and tell your friends, family and assorted quadrupeds…

You Have To Hand It To Patrick Harvie

BaJvqUECAAEqU7i.png largeIf it was you that put this image up on twitter then let me know and I’ll add the link.

I have to say this is one of the most photogenic moments in all the referendum campaign so far.

Patrick Harvie is holding the positive case for Independence in one hand (though he leaves it open to constructive criticism), and he is looking at his other hand which contains all the positive evidence for the union that has been given so far.

Nicely done Patrick. I had him on the podcast as well, if you’d like a listen.

(P.S. We had a very good episode out yesterday too).

The Scottish Independence Podcast – Independence Rally Sep 23 2014

BU1i-umCIAAcBWZThis is a special edition of the podcast featuring some music, some opinions from the crowd and some of the speeches from the Independence Rally in Edinburgh on 21st September 2014.

The idea is to give those of you who were there a nice little keepsake of it, and for those like me who were unfortunate enough not to be able to make it, to give an idea of what weBUrkKWvCMAAp12ant on.

I’m well aware of course that the best thing about going to this type of political event is not the speeches, but rather the people you meet and the camaraderie. However, it’s quite difficult to put that onto an MP3 so this is the best I can do for the podcast!

There are many speakers featured including four who have featured on the podcast before (Carolyn Leckie, Patrick Harvie, Colin Fox, Alan Bissett). There were also contributions from Elaine C Smith, Hardeep Singh Kholi and many others.

Songs include work by Citizen Smart, as well as someone playing in the street!

Hope you enjoy…

The Scottish Independence Podcast Episode 12 – Patrick Harvie

For episode 12 of The Scottish Independence Podcast I spoke with MSP and co-convenor of the Scottish Green Party, Patrick Harvie.

We discussed the decision of the Greens to join the Yes campaign, some of the goings-on in Holyrood, the environmental advantages that Independence will bring, an increased focus on giving real powers to local government and much more besides.

Hope you enjoy it.
