The Scottish Independence Podcast – The Glasgow Takeover

IMG_2365For this episode of the Scottish Independence Podcast I did the first of a few outside broadcast shows that are coming up.

Yesterday’s big event in Glasgow was Radical Indy’s Glasgow Takeover.

100s of Indy activists from many different groups were all over the city centre and turned it into a large independence event for the day.

I managed to catch up with some of the organisers, some of the speakers and some of the activists to ask what they were up to.

Hope you enjoy…

The Scottish Independence Podcast 51 – Patrick Harvie

BaJvqUECAAEqU7i.png large“I don’t think the UK economy is in recovery…I think it’s going back to the disease that [it] suffered from in the run-up to the recession”.

Patrick Harvie MSP, seen here in the Scottish parliament holding some of the positive plans for Independence in one hand, and the positive case for the union in the other, is the guest for the 51st episode of the Scottish Independence Podcast.

If you didn’t already know, Patrick is an MSP and the co-convener of the Scottish Green Party and he came on to the podcast to talk about some of the alternative ideas post-independence that are outlined in the new Green YES document.

For example, the Greens are openly advocating for a Scottish Currency instead of the pound or Euro, there should be a move away from centralised government, and what’s a Citizen’s Income?

It’s well worth the listen.

You Have To Hand It To Patrick Harvie

BaJvqUECAAEqU7i.png largeIf it was you that put this image up on twitter then let me know and I’ll add the link.

I have to say this is one of the most photogenic moments in all the referendum campaign so far.

Patrick Harvie is holding the positive case for Independence in one hand (though he leaves it open to constructive criticism), and he is looking at his other hand which contains all the positive evidence for the union that has been given so far.

Nicely done Patrick. I had him on the podcast as well, if you’d like a listen.

(P.S. We had a very good episode out yesterday too).

The Scottish Independence Podcast Episode 12 – Patrick Harvie

For episode 12 of The Scottish Independence Podcast I spoke with MSP and co-convenor of the Scottish Green Party, Patrick Harvie.

We discussed the decision of the Greens to join the Yes campaign, some of the goings-on in Holyrood, the environmental advantages that Independence will bring, an increased focus on giving real powers to local government and much more besides.

Hope you enjoy it.
