The Polling Station 7 – Transport Part 1 – The Trains

BpoAIZgCMAMUsZJThe Polling Station is a podcast of around 5 minutes with short informative little pieces on the election matters that are being missed, evaded, obfuscated or terminalogically inexactituded in the normal election coverage. It’ll be every day between now and the election, with Ivan McKee, myself and others.

This is the 7th episode, you can find the others here

Why not come on a lazy train ride this Sunday? Well, I assume most of you would like to, but think it is just too bloody expensive. Why should that be? What can be done about it?

Good things come to those who wait, and I’m not talking about your train being late, I am in fact referring to how renationalising the train system may be much cheaper and easier than many suspect.

These were our topics for this Sunday…

Hope you enjoy…

  1. I enjoyed listening to you, but I couldn’t help thinking you obviously haven’t listened to this; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qBpm5sVmGYc

In short; there is no such thing as a government deficit. It is a lie.

Now I’m pretty sure Alistair Darling knows this, Alex Salmond almost certainly does not, which is why ‘they’ went on and on about currency during the referendum. Some bright spark had spotted this is where the ‘Yes’ campaign, or at least the SNP really fucked up. Being in a currency union with the rUK, especially if the rUK didn’t really want it would have been a nightmare.

An independent Scotland would need to have its own currency (say Scottish Dollar, so we don’t confuse it with the Scottish Pound which sort of exists) and do it as soon as is sensible. That would give Scotland the ‘policy space’ it needed to create the country I think you guys are after.
