  1. I keep seeing claims (most recently in the Economist) that Westminster allocates more money per person in Scotland than it does in England. None of them actually break down the allocation. They do report on the argument over the formulas by which the largesse is calculated. If the benevolence includes money for things like exploding public toilets and shrieking CCTV cameras, along with the latest trend in fatuous “security” measures, I think the articles on the formulas and amounts are entirely ludicrous. It would be newsworthy if the geniuses who came up with the shrieking camera program hanged themselves in remorse.

  2. This goes to the mindset. Forget the economics. The culture of dependency and subservience needs to be smashed first. Doing that will allow a succesful economic plan whatever that is, to be fall into place.
