So long as men worship the Caesars and Napoleons, Caesars and Napoleons will duly arise and make them miserable. – Aldous Huxley

RAGE AGAINST THE ELBOW

Rage Against The Machine at the very first T in the park was a memorable moment for anyone who was there, just look at the crowd in the video. Unfortunately, even though I was there I can only remember about half of it as during the moshing I receivied a fairly hefty accidental elbow behind my left ear and promptly hit the deck. Was lucky my friend was there to help me out actually.

Nonetheless, after having a little word with myself I went right back to it in the seriously-going-mental part of the crowd. Would be nice to be 17 again. Come to think of it, maybe it wouldn’t.

I remember feeling incredibly smug that we managed to smuggle some alcohol in before realising that basically everyone had done it.

This particular performance was also memorable because Bjork was in a short skirt dancing to this concert on top of a van at the left of the stage*.

They also came out for the encore wearing Scotland football shirts and said one or two things about independence.I think “get on with it” was the basic message.

UPDATE  (if you can have an update about something that happened 16 years ago that is)

Bjork was to the right of the stage and not the left but you must forgive because a combination of factors has made my memory of the event a little hazy.
