My daughter calls hummers and other humongous SUV’s Penile Extenders. I don’t know what people are trying to achieve by all the rabid consumerism, but surely they will realize it isn’t working - or maybe not.
I really think that we’re nearly at the nadir of our consumerism, right now. It’ll get even worse because ordinary people are so reluctant to give up the idea that “the one with the most toys wins”.
Still, I’m encouraged (somewhat) by the rise of recycling and the rise of a hopefully-not-too-late general acceptance of the empirically factual nature of human induced Global Climate Change.
Things were undoubtedly still get worse yet, but if we make it through these next hundred-odd years then I believe we’ll have some incredibly progressive cultural changes blossoming. Just wish I could live to see ‘em.
And, no. I’m not absolutely convinced that such a “rosy” scenario lies ahead. I just believe that it does.
This is just mega stupid, why buy for the sake of buying then after it gets broken, not beond repair, then throwing it out????????????????????????????????

Perfect! It captures my sentiments precisely.
